Tragic Roof Collapse Claims Entire Family in Chinnavangali

Four members of a family tragically lost their lives when the roof of their house collapsed in Chinnavangali village, Nandyal district. The collapse, caused by heavy rains, occurred around 12:30 am, while they were asleep. A case has been registered, police official Sheik Sharifuddin reported.

Four family members died when the roof of their house collapsed in Chinnavangali village in Nandyal district, a police official confirmed on Friday.

Allagadda sub-divisional police officer Sheik Sharifuddin disclosed that Guru Sekhar Reddy (42), his wife Dastagiramma, and their two minor daughters perished when the mud roof of their house gave way during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

The collapse, triggered by recent heavy rains which increased the roof's weight, occurred around 12:30 am while the family was asleep. Upon hearing a loud crash, neighbors rushed to the scene only to find the family deceased. Reddy's second daughter, a student, was in Kadapa district when the incident happened. Sharifuddin confirmed that a case has been registered.
