Film Stars Unite for Kerala Landslide Relief
Telugu superstars Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, and Allu Arjun donated significant amounts to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund to support rehabilitation in Kerala's landslide-hit Wayanad district. Several other actors and filmmakers also contributed, highlighting the Indian film industry's solidarity during this crisis.
In response to the catastrophic landslide that struck Kerala's Wayanad district, prominent Telugu film stars Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, and Allu Arjun have made substantial donations to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF). The disaster, which occurred on July 30, has resulted in 219 deaths, according to state authorities.
Chiranjeevi and his son, Ram Charan, collectively pledged Rs 1 crore, with Chiranjeevi expressing deep sorrow over the loss of life. 'Charan and I together are contributing Rs 1 crore to the Kerala CM Relief Fund as a token of our support to the victims,' stated the acclaimed actor.
Allu Arjun, known for his role in 'Pushpa: The Rise,' donated ₹25 lakh to support rehabilitation efforts, acknowledging Kerala's love for him. Several other notable figures, including Malayalam cinema veteran Mohanlal and Tamil stars Kamal Haasan, Suriya, and Jyotika, have also made significant contributions, underscoring the film industry's collective support during this tragedy.
