A unique collection of 250 gifts, including an exquisite shell craft painting of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and a statue of Lord Buddha from the Mahabodhi Temple, is now available for auction. The online bidding, which commenced on Monday, can be done through a dedicated portal recently launched by President Droupadi Murmu.
Encased in an elegant frame, Netaji's painting, revered for its historical significance, is the most expensive item with a base price of Rs 4,02,500. Crafted entirely from delicate shell pieces, the painting captures every intricate detail of Bose's iconic military uniform and resolute expression, symbolizing the strength and determination of the Indian Independence movement.
Another notable item is the serene statue of Lord Buddha, available for bidding with a base price of Rs 82,500. Crafted with vibrant hues, the statue signifies deep meditation and the spiritual enlightenment attained by Buddha. Proceeds from the auction, which runs until August 26, will be donated to support children in need, as stated by Rashtrapati Bhavan.
