Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday inspected flood-hit areas in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, addressing grievances from affected residents.
He toured Sangavi in Pimpri Chinchwad, Patil Estate in Shivajinagar, and Ekta Nagar in Pune's Sinhgad Road area.
Speaking to citizens in Shivajinagar, Shinde assured, 'Temporary relief efforts are underway, and the government is committed to developing long-term flood management policies.' He emphasized reviewing the 25-year flood level marker to prevent future incidents.
Shinde urged residents to cooperate with local authorities for effective flood management.
Teams from the Army, NDRF, and local civic bodies have been deployed in flood-prone Ekta Nagar, which was heavily inundated after Khadakwasla dam discharged water due to intense rainfall in the catchment area.
