Press Council of India Honors Journalists for Excellence
Veteran journalist Vishwanath Sachdev received the prestigious Raja Ram Mohan Roy Award from the Press Council of India. Other notable winners included Jitu Kalita, A K Sreejith, Reji Joseph, and Navamy Sudhish, among others recognized for excellence in various journalism categories, including rural and development reporting, and photo journalism.

Veteran journalist Vishwanath Sachdev was honored with the Raja Ram Mohan Roy Award by the Press Council of India (PCI) on Monday for his notable contributions to journalism.
Jitu Kalita from Niyomiya Barta and A K Sreejith from Mathrubhumi were awarded the national award for excellence in 'Rural Journalism'. Veteran journalists Ashok Tandon and Ram Bahadur Rai presented the awards in the presence of PCI chairperson Justice Ranjana Prakash Joshi.
Additional laureates included Reji Joseph of Rashtra Deepika and Navamy Sudhish of The Hindu in 'Development Reporting', and Gibi Sam V P and Viswajith K in 'Photo Journalism - Single News Picture'. Other awardees were recognized across various categories, including 'Best Newspaper Art' and 'Gender Issue Reporting'.
