Taylor Swift's three concerts in Vienna were cancelled following confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at the stadium, the organizer announced on Wednesday.

"With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety," Barracuda.music said in an Instagram post, adding that all tickets would be automatically refunded. Austrian police detained two suspects linked to the plot, said Franz Ruf, director general for public security.

Ruf disclosed that their investigations had identified preparatory actions and noted that the 19-year-old suspect had a particular focus on the Taylor Swift concerts in Vienna. The suspect, an Austrian citizen, had pledged allegiance to Islamic State, Ruf added. Police searched the residence of one of the suspects and are analyzing items found at the Ternitz, Lower Austria home.

The concerts in Vienna were part of Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour, which has been drawing large crowds since its start on March 17, 2023, in Glendale, Arizona. The tour is expected to conclude on Dec. 8, 2024, in Vancouver, Canada. The next stop is London, where Swift is scheduled to perform six concerts at Wembley Stadium starting on Aug. 15.
