Germany's ambassador to India, Philipp Ackermann, has extended a heartfelt message to Neeraj Chopra, calling the ace javelin thrower a 'friend' and expressing hopes for his triumph. Ackermann shared his sentiments and wished Chopra luck in a candid interview with PTI from the German embassy.
In addition to his support for Chopra, Ackermann conveyed best wishes to Germany's men's hockey team as they compete for gold against the Netherlands at the Paris Olympics. He highlighted Chopra's strong connection to Germany through his training regimen and German coach.
Addressing Chopra's preparation, Ackermann said, 'He has a German coach and moved to Saarbrucken, near the French border, for his final preparations. We wish him all the best.' Ackermann also praised India's performance in the hockey semi-final, despite their loss to Germany, and shared a video message on social media showing his support.
