The All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) along with Kerala Karshaka Sangham (KKS) has made a significant donation of Rs 1 crore to aid the victims of the Wayanad landslide, according to a senior leader's announcement on Friday.

The devastating landslides that struck Wayanad on July 26 resulted in the loss of more than 200 lives.

Leaders representing AIKS and its Kerala affiliate KKS handed the cheque to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday. AIKS chief Ashok Dhawale, who is based in Thane, confirmed the contribution.

The KKS managed to raise Rs 1 crore from its extensive network of over 27,000 units, Dhawale elaborated. Previously, AIKS had donated Rs 5 lakh to the relief efforts, which included a contribution of Rs 1 lakh from the Tamil Nadu Vivasayigal Sangham.
