Pakistan Denies Media Claims of Missile Supply to Iran Amid Regional Tensions
Pakistan's Foreign Office spokesperson, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, refuted reports suggesting the country is supplying missiles to Iran. These allegations arose from a Jerusalem Post report, retweeted by Tehran Times, following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. Baloch urged media and parties to avoid spreading false news and expressed concerns about regional instability.
Pakistan's Foreign Office has categorically denied media reports suggesting that the country is supplying missiles to Iran amid escalating regional tensions.
During a weekly briefing, spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch addressed claims made in a Jerusalem Post article, which were circulated by Tehran Times, stating that Pakistan committed to sending Shaheen III missiles to Iran following Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh's assassination in Tehran.
'Such reports are patently false. Before paying any attention to such reports, it is important to reflect on the source behind such baseless reports and the malicious agenda behind them,' Baloch asserted, emphasizing the importance of not indulging in fake news during this critical time in the Middle East.
The spokesperson urged caution and restraint, demanding the immediate halting of Israeli actions against Palestinians, and noted Islamabad's concerns over evolving regional situations. Baloch also highlighted that Pakistan had conveyed its concerns to the US regarding a bill in Congress and hoped for stronger Pakistan-US ties through mutual collaboration.
