Veteran British rock and pop icon Rod Stewart has contracted COVID-19, forcing him to cancel two scheduled summer concerts. The 79-year-old musician made the announcement via his official Instagram page on Saturday.

The concerts, initially set for this week in Stateline, NV and Lincoln, CA, have been rescheduled to August 18 and August 20, respectively. Concertgoers are advised to keep their tickets, which will be valid for the new dates.

Stewart, known for hits like 'Sailing,' 'Young Turks,' and 'Baby Jane,' had also missed the landmark 200th show of his Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace due to strep throat. Despite these setbacks, he conveyed his apologies and reassured fans that his Las Vegas show would return in 2025.
