Gina Gershon Reflects on Embarrassing Moment During 'Cocktail' Shoot with Tom Cruise

American actor and singer Gina Gershon recently appeared on 'Watch What Happens Live' and shared details about filming a romantic scene with Tom Cruise in the 1988 movie 'Cocktail.' According to The Hollywood Reporter, she revealed that her 'first love scene ever' was with Cruise, describing him as an absolute 'gentleman.' However, she humorously recounted an embarrassing moment when she accidentally 'kneed him right in the nose' during the shoot.

'At one point, he started off under the covers, and I told him I was very ticklish,' Gershon shared. 'I said, 'No, no, don't ever do that.' And in one take -- I think he wanted a reaction -- he grabbed my stomach, and I kneed him right in the nose,' she added. 'I was like, 'Oh, my God, I just broke Tom Cruise's nose.' He's like, 'No, no, you told me.' I'm like, 'I'm so sorry,' he was like, 'No, it was my fault.' And he was so overprotective of me. He was great,' Gershon continued.

'Cocktail,' directed by Roger Donaldson, follows Brian (Cruise), a New York City business student and bartender who takes a job at a bar in Jamaica and falls in love with artist Jordan (Elisabeth Shue). Gershon played Coral, a photographer who cheats on Brian with his business partner Doug (Bryan Brown), leading Brian to move to Jamaica. Gershon revealed that Cruise's then-wife, Mimi Rogers, was very present on set, having just gotten married. Gershon also admitted that she and Cruise 'did kiss as much as we could' throughout the film, adding, 'Every scene it was like, 'Should we kiss in the scene?' 'Oh yeah, I think we should kiss.''
