The Northern Railways on Wednesday elevated wrestler Aman Sehrawat to the post of officer on special duty (OSD) following his bronze medal win at the Paris Olympics, an official confirmed.
Sehrawat, who triumphed in the 57kg freestyle category, became India's youngest Olympic medallist at 21, contributing to India's sixth medal at the event.
During a meeting at the Northern Railway Headquarters, General Manager Shobhan Chaudhuri honored Sehrawat with a token of appreciation for his achievement.
Principal Chief Personnel Officer Sujit Kumar Mishra announced Sehrawat's promotion, recognizing his Olympic success and new role as OSD/Sports.
Chief Public Relations Officer Himanshu S Upadhyay lauded Sehrawat for bringing pride to the nation, highlighting his dedication, hard work, and perseverance as an inspiration to millions.
