The Latur administration on Friday launched its 'heritage walk' initiative aimed at acquainting citizens with the region's rich history.
The first Heritage Walk took place at the Ganj Golai market, a historical site inaugurated in 1917 by Subedar Raja Indrakarn Bahadur of Gulbarga. The site, designed by engineer Fayyazuddin, is notable for its unique structure that resembles the rays of the sun from above and an opened umbrella from the ground.
Collector Varsha Thakur-Ghuge announced that a Heritage Walk will be organized monthly, each time highlighting a different historical site within Latur.
