A towering 90-foot bronze statue of Lord Hanuman, known as the 'Statue of Union,' has been unveiled near the Sri Ashtalakshmi Temple in Sugar Land, Texas. This grand sculpture not only marks a significant milestone in America's cultural and spiritual landscape but also stands as the third tallest statue in the United States.
The 'Statue of Union' is recognized as the tallest Hanuman murti outside India and the tallest in Texas, following only behind the Statue of Liberty and the Pegasus and Dragon statue in Florida. The monumental structure, conceptualized by His Holiness Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, aims to serve as a spiritual epicenter for North America.
The Prana Prathishta Mahotsavam ceremony, held from August 15 to 18, coincided with India's Independence Day and featured rituals led by Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji and numerous Vedic scholars. Highlights included a helicopter showering flowers, sprinkling sacred water, and placing a massive garland around Hanuman's neck. This event drew thousands of devotees, exemplifying unity and devotion.
