A sequel to the beloved American series 'One Tree Hill' is in the early stages at Netflix. Deadline reports that original stars Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton are set to executive produce and reprise their roles as Brooke Davis and Peyton Sawyer, respectively.
Danneel Ackles, along with her husband Jensen Ackles, will also serve as executive producers through their Chaos Machine banner. She is in talks to reprise her role as Rachel Gatina. The project is spearheaded by writer-executive producer Becky Hartman Edwards and Warner Bros. Television.
'One Tree Hill,' created by Mark Schwahn, originally aired in 2003 and ran for nine seasons, following the complex lives of two half-brothers in a fictional North Carolina town. The sequel, set 20 years later, will see Brooke and Peyton navigating parenthood with its own share of love, insecurities, and grief. If finalized, this will be Netflix's second revival of a Warner Bros. Television series, after 'Gilmore Girls.'
