Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Saturday announced several new initiatives to support farmers and women in the state during a rally held at Katol in the Nagpur district.

Among the key announcements were a Rs 5 per litre subsidy for dairy farmers and the establishment of a new factory for orange growers in Katol. Pawar also mentioned that the Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana would bring 2.5 crore women under its umbrella, providing them with a monthly cash transfer of Rs 1,500.

Pawar emphasized the government's commitment to supporting women by stating that a total of Rs 1 lakh would be deposited into their bank accounts over the next five years under the Ladki Bahin Yojana. He also highlighted that the state had waived the electricity bills of farmers, addressing overdue bills as well. The government has dedicated Rs 46,000 crore to ensure direct payments to women, bypassing middlemen.
