Kangana Ranaut's 'Emergency' Faces Release Setback Amid Controversy

Kangana Ranaut stated that she has become 'everyone's favourite target' amidst the delay in the release of her film 'Emergency' due to legal hurdles. The Madhya Pradesh and Bombay High Courts have intervened, citing objections from Sikh organizations about the film's content, delaying its certification process by CBFC.

Kangana Ranaut on Wednesday claimed she has become 'everyone's favourite target' as her controversial film 'Emergency' faces further delays due to ongoing legal issues. The film's release, initially set for September 6, remains in limbo following directives from the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

The period drama, directed, written, and co-produced by Ranaut, also stars her as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The Bombay High Court upheld the Madhya Pradesh High Court's order, which instructed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to consider objections raised by Sikh organizations before certifying the film.

Reacting to the situation, Ranaut expressed her frustration on social media, alleging that her activism has made her a target. Zee Entertainment Enterprises, the film's producer, sought relief from the Bombay High Court, but the court has yet to issue a directive to the CBFC to certify the film.
