Bangladesh's Religious Affairs Advisor AFM Khalid Hossain announced on Saturday that there are no plans to change the national anthem despite recent calls for such action.
Abdullahil Amaan Azmi, son of Ghulam Azam, recently suggested altering the anthem and Constitution, arguing the current lyrics reflect the Bengal partition. Responding to these calls, Hossain stressed that the interim government seeks to avoid controversy.
Hossain also highlighted Bangladesh's commitment to friendly relations with India and condemned recent attacks on places of worship, promising legal action against the perpetrators. He assured that both local citizens and madrasa students would protect temples during Durga Puja to prevent any attacks or sabotage.
