Suresh Gopi, a Malayalam actor-turned-politician, visited the renowned hilltop temple dedicated to Lord Venkateswara in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, on Wednesday to offer prayers. Gopi sought blessings from the deity during his visit.
The temple, devoted to Lord Venkateswara, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is believed to provide solace and deliverance to humanity from the hardships of the Kali Yuga. Hence, the place is referred to as Kaliyuga Vaikuntha, and the deity as Kaliyuga Prathyaksha Daivam.
Suresh Gopi currently serves as the Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas as well as Tourism in the BJP-led central government. He won the Lok Sabha elections from Thrissur. During his visit, temple officials honored him.
