Two teenagers, Omkar Chandrakant Gade (17) and Swayam Bhaiyya More (18), tragically drowned during the immersion of a Ganesh idol in Nashik, Maharashtra. The boys underestimated the depth of the Waldevi river, leading to their demise despite rescue efforts by locals, police, and the fire brigade.

In a heart-wrenching incident, two teenagers lost their lives during the immersion of a Ganesh idol in Nashik, Maharashtra. The tragic event occurred on Tuesday night, when Omkar Chandrakant Gade, aged 17, and Swayam Bhaiyya More, aged 18, ventured into the Waldevi river with their friends.

According to an official report, the boys misjudged the depth of the river water, leading to their untimely drowning. Despite swift efforts by local residents, police officers, and the fire brigade, the boys could not be rescued in time.

The firefighters later retrieved their bodies from the water. The community is deeply mourning the loss of the young lives during what was meant to be a religious celebration.
