In a significant development, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced plans to establish a Welfare Board for the Jain community during a traditional Jain 'Kshamavani' program at his residence.
The state will provide free accommodation for Jain monks during their travels and rename Sagar Medical College as 'Acharya Vidyasagar Medical College' in recognition of Jain contributions to education and culture.
Furthering its commitment, the BJP government has banned the open sale of meat, initiated the opening of Ayurvedic colleges across all administrative divisions, and introduced incentives for cow shelters and cow-rearing.
