A state-appointed lifesaving agency in Goa reported rescuing over 10 individuals from drowning incidents in the Arabian Sea last weekend. The agency's swift actions provided crucial medical aid to an injured French national and a tourist from Delhi.
Lifeguards saved a 22-year-old from Maharashtra and two locals, caught in a rip current off Calangute beach. Additionally, a 35-year-old from Karnataka, who was intoxicated, was rescued from similar perilous conditions.
Two attempted thefts were thwarted by vigilant lifesavers. In one case, a man's quick intervention prevented the theft of a Russian tourist's belongings at Calangute beach. Both suspects were swiftly handed over to police, ensuring tourist safety.
