A fire erupted at the police line camp near Nagvasuki on Bindu Madhav Marg in Sector 6 of the Maha Kumbh on Thursday afternoon, igniting a swift response from local authorities. While two tents were gutted, authorities confirmed that there were no casualties.

Pramod Sharma, Chief Fire Officer for the Kumbh, reported that the smoke was spotted rising from within the camp at around midday. A quick deployment of four fire tenders helped to quench the fire in minutes, although the exact cause remains undetermined.

Reports reveal this is not the first incident at the ongoing Maha Kumbh. Earlier on February 7, a fire at the ISKCON camp destroyed over a dozen tents. Additionally, a cylinder explosion on January 19 and a car fire on January 25 contributed to concerns over fire safety at the event, which began on January 13 and proceeds until February 26.
