In a reaffirmation of leadership, Mamta Kulkarni will continue her role as 'mahamandaleshwar' of the Kinnar Akhara after her resignation was declined. Her appointment, a significant event at the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, was confirmed by Acharya Laxmi Narayan Tripathi.

Kulkarni expressed gratitude for the decision in a video statement on Thursday, highlighting her continued dedication to the spiritual sect. Kulkarni had previously announced her resignation in a video on February 10.

Akharas, which play a pivotal role in spiritual traditions, are monastic institutions that unify ascetics under defined spiritual disciplines, and Kulkarni's ongoing role signifies stability within the institution.
