BookAChange: Transforming Lives Through Music and the Arts

BookMyShow Foundation unveils BookAChange, a transformative initiative aimed at providing underprivileged youth with access to music education. The program offers scholarships to students and street artists, facilitating training in music and performing arts. The BookMyShow Foundation has launched BookAChange, a new initiative designed to transform the lives of underprivileged talent through music education. A continuation of its original 2014 initiative, BookASmile, the program seeks to democratize access to music and the performing arts for marginalized communities.

BookAChange offers scholarships that help students and street artists pursue music education at accredited institutions. The foundation has announced a series of initiatives across India, aiming to make music education accessible to everyone, regardless of background. The initiative includes specialized training programs in Mumbai, offering skills in Rap and DJing to students from Dharavi.

In addition, 125 children from BMC schools in Mumbai are undergoing a ten-month intensive program in Hindustani classical music, preparing them for advanced learning and certification. Farzana Cama Balpande, the head of BookAChange, emphasized the campaign's aim to democratize the arts while inspiring future industry leaders.
