The iconic Ravindra Natya Mandir auditorium in Mumbai is all set to throw open its doors once again on February 28, post major renovations. Prominent political figures, including Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and deputy chief ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, will be gracing the grand reopening event, an official disclosed.
In a statement, Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar expressed that the reopening marks a 'new dawn' for Maharashtra's flourishing theatre and arts sphere. Since its establishment, the academy has played a pivotal role in fostering artistic talent and is committed to continuing this legacy, he affirmed.
The upgrades feature cutting-edge sound systems, luxurious interiors, multiple exhibition and rehearsal spaces, and modern studios. In a bid to further empower artists, the academy will introduce 20 certificate and diploma courses spanning various art forms, Shelar announced.
