Prime Minister Narendra Modi is anticipated to inaugurate the redeveloped Tripureswari temple in Tripura's Gomati district on April 7, according to a state minister. The landmark site, identified as one of the 51 'Shakti Peeths', has been revitalized under the 'PRASAD' scheme, receiving a significant investment of Rs 54 crore.

The redevelopment was part of the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive, an initiative by the tourism ministry to enhance pilgrimage locations across India. State finance minister Pranajit Singha Roy confirmed the tentative inauguration plans, revealing that the Chief Minister invited PM Modi during a visit to New Delhi.

To preserve the purity and sanctity of the temple, the administration is considering a ban on serving and consuming non-vegetarian food within its proximity. The local district magistrate is actively developing this proposal to uphold cultural traditions during the highly anticipated ceremony.
