Jason's death was confirmed by a representative at Vanguard Management. The Hollywood native began his onscreen journey in the mid-1960s and made his film debut in Howard Hawks' final piece, Rio Lobo (1970). His theatrical versatility also saw him collaborating with Orson Welles on The Other Side of the Wind, which premiered in 2018 after years of development.
Among his significant roles, Jason portrayed characters in Hill's The Driver and The Long Riders, and Carpenter's Prince of Darkness and They Live. Jason also appeared in TV series including Mike Hammer, Private Eye, and the comedy Baskets, showcasing his diverse acting range.
