'Chhaava', the historical drama starring Vicky Kaushal, has been praised by PM Narendra Modi for its portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extolled 'Chhaava', a historical drama featuring Vicky Kaushal, during the 98th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan in New Delhi. He emphasized Maharashtra's vital contribution to both Marathi and Hindi cinema, particularly in the context of the film's impact, which chronicles the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.

The Prime Minister noted the widespread acclaim 'Chhaava' has garnered across the nation and highlighted Shivaji Sawant's novel, 'Chhava', which introduced readers to the historical valor of Sambhaji Maharaj. Modi remarked the unique role Maharashtra and Mumbai have played in elevating Hindi cinema alongside Marathi films.

Directed by Laxman Utekar, 'Chhaava' has been a box office sensation since its release on February 14, crossing the Rs 200 crore threshold with significant contributions from Maharashtra. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film capitalized on the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti holiday, earning over Rs 30 crore in a single day.

The movie showcases the legend of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, with Vicky Kaushal's performance drawing widespread praise. The cast also includes Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna in prominent roles.
