Actor Kunal Kemmu has candidly shared his recollections of growing up in Kashmir during turbulent times, when he was just six years old. During an interview with ANI, Kemmu reflected on the fear that permeated his childhood in Srinagar, as sudden explosions and stone-pelting incidents became a regular occurrence.

Kemmu spoke about the uncertainty of those years and described how hearing a 'loud sound' would often lead to confusion over whether it was a 'cylinder blast or a bomb.' He also recounted vivid moments like a bomb explosion beneath his house, which left him momentarily deafened and covered in smoke, a scene he likened to a film moment.

While Kemmu and his family eventually relocated to Mumbai, the memories of unrest, such as the arrival of the army during stone-pelting incidents, have persisted. As a child, he found the situation so unpleasant that he avoided delving deeply into the affairs of the valley, creating a mental barrier to shield himself from the distressing events.
