Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Sunday commended former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari for his notable contributions to the development of the hill state, emphasizing his efforts in forest conservation and safeguarding natural resources.

The accolades were presented at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts during the release of a book titled 'Parvat Shiromani Bhagat Singh Koshyari', authored by Madan Mohan Sati. Koshyari, who also held gubernatorial positions in Goa and Maharashtra, has dedicated his life to national service, focusing on uplifting marginalized communities.

His life and work, marked by an unwavering commitment to service without arrogance or attachment to power, serve as an enduring inspiration, according to Birla. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Mohan Singh Bisht and Sachchidanand Joshi, underscoring the importance of Koshyari's legacy.
