Shabana Azmi Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award at Karnataka Cultural Gala

Veteran actor Shabana Azmi received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at his residence during a ceremony. The award, accompanied by a Rs 10 lakh cheque, was presented at the 16th International Film Festival in Bengaluru. Azmi and her husband, lyricist Javed Akhtar, praised Karnataka's cultural heritage.

During a ceremonious event at the Karnataka Chief Minister's residence, veteran actor Shabana Azmi was bestowed with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, reflecting on Azmi's celebrated past contributions, presented her with the award and a cheque of Rs 10 lakh, amidst the backdrop of the 16th International Film Festival.

Both Azmi and Javed Akhtar lauded Karnataka's cultural legacy, and the Chief Minister pledged to champion GST benefits for artistic communities. The event was graced by notable dignitaries, emulating a strong cultural and political camaraderie.
