Arrowhead, the renowned tigress of Ranthambore National Park, has died at the age of 11 due to a brain tumor, according to forest officials. As the granddaughter of the iconic Machhli, her legacy extends through her prowess in hunting and contribution to the park's tiger population.
Recently, Arrowhead gained widespread attention after a video surfaced of her hunting a crocodile, echoing the legendary feats of her grandmother, Machhli, once dubbed the 'Queen of Ranthambore' and 'Crocodile Hunter.' In homage, forest officials and wildlife enthusiasts offered emotional tributes before her cremation.
Born in February 2014, Arrowhead frequented Zones 2 to 5 of the park, most notably Nal Ghati and Rajbagh Lake. She leaves behind 10 cubs, six of whom survive. The loss comes shortly after the relocation of her daughter, Kankati, by the forest department. Her memory, as described by the Ranthambore Nature Guide Association, is etched in the park's ecological narrative.
