The Indian Embassy in Nepal hosted a significant yoga event at Lumbini, the historic birthplace of Lord Buddha, in anticipation of International Yoga Day on June 21.
The demonstration, held in conjunction with the Lumbini Trust, took place at notable landmarks, including the Prince Siddhartha statue and Maya Devi Temple, both part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The event attracted more than 500 yoga enthusiasts and was graced by Lumbini Province Governor Krishna Bahadur Gharti and Nepal's Youth and Sports Minister, Teju Lal Chaudhary.
Indian Ambassador Naveen Srivastava highlighted yoga's ascension as a global practice following its recognition by the United Nations. In collaboration with the Pokhara Metropolitan City, a parallel event also took place at the Pokhara Stadium, underscoring the expanding reach of yoga.
