The investigation intensified after Srikanth underwent an extensive eight-hour interrogation at the Nungambakkam police station, where police connected him to former AIADMK functionary T Prasad, suspected of supplying cocaine to him and another actor.

Following the collection of Srikanth's blood samples at Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, medical tests confirmed the presence of narcotics, leading to his eventual remand by the 14th Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore.
