In the aftermath of a tragic stampede that claimed three lives near Shree Gundicha temple in Puri, measures have been swiftly implemented to ensure the safety of thousands of devotees flocking to the revered site. Barricades have been erected and distinct queues set up to facilitate a smooth darshan of the deities inside the temple.
Despite Sunday's unfortunate incident, the temple rituals continued unabated. On Monday night, the temple forwent its usual 'Pahuda', allowing continuous access as various rituals unfolded. Celebrated with fervor, the 'Mangal Aarti' attracted vast numbers of devotees who witnessed the revered ceremony without difficulty.
The Rath Yatra festival, under the vigilant supervision of ADG-rank officer Soumendra Priyadarshi, is progressing with newly appointed Puri district authorities ensuring order. Even amid tragedy, faith endures as devotees seek solace in the festivity, trusting in improved arrangements for the remaining rituals.
