In a landmark event for Uttar Pradesh, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University in Gorakhpur. The inauguration marks the beginning of a new chapter in the state's health and cultural sector, according to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The university, completed at a cost of Rs 268 crore in Pipri, Bhathat, was opened by the President in a ceremony attended by Governor Anandiben Patel, local dignitaries, and state ministers. President Murmu's visit is part of her two-day tour in Uttar Pradesh.
The institution aims to serve as a beacon of Indian knowledge traditions like yoga and Ayurveda, providing holistic healthcare and medical education. The university's development aligns with the state's vision of creating a 'Developed India -- Developed Uttar Pradesh,' blending spiritual legacy with modern education.
