In the aftermath of a stampede that killed three devotees near the Shree Gundicha Temple in Puri, Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is taking steps to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of forthcoming Rath Yatra activities. Discussions with servitors and temple administrators are underway.

In a swift response to the tragic stampede near Shree Gundicha Temple in Puri that claimed three lives, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has arrived in the pilgrim town. His visit aims to review and strengthen the arrangements for upcoming Rath Yatra rituals.

The Chief Minister is set to meet with key stakeholders involved in the Rath Yatra activities. This follows an apology issued by Majhi to devotees after the Sunday incident. His focus now is on ensuring a seamless continuation of rituals such as 'Bahuda Yatra' and 'Suna Besha'.

Alongside Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan, Majhi plans a meeting with the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration. The discussions come as the state government enacts changes in Puri's administrative structure to prevent future incidents. An administrative inquiry into the stampede has been launched.
