Bilaspur is poised to emerge as a leading center for water sports, with efforts underway to pinpoint optimal locations for development, according to Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar. During a Society for Tourism, Sports, Trade, and Employment Generation meeting, Kumar highlighted ongoing initiatives in tourism and sports.
Officials have been instructed to assess the Nakarana area near Bhakra Dam for potential water sports opportunities, capitalizing on its stable water levels year-round. This move aims to enhance the region's appeal to both Shri Naina Devi Temple devotees and Bhakra Dam tourists.
Further plans include constructing a glass bridge in Mandi Bharadi and organizing large-scale competitions to elevate Bilaspur's profile on national and international tourism maps.
