In a tragic conclusion to a case that gripped both Spain and the UK, a coroner ruled that British teenager Jay Slater died accidentally from a fall in Tenerife last year.
The 19-year-old disappeared in June after a night out, attempting a lengthy return walk to his accommodation. His body was found in a remote national park in the Canary Islands, with injuries matching those associated with a fall.
Coroner James Adeley stated Slater fell 66 to 82 feet while descending a treacherous ravine, suffering fatal injuries. No evidence of third-party involvement was found in his death.
