In a significant revelation, Rini Ann George, a former television journalist turned actor, has raised allegations of misconduct against Congress MLA Rahul Mamkootathil. Emphasizing that her struggle is not against any individual but a fight for women's rights, George urged society to recognize the truth when women speak out. Her statements followed the resignation of Mamkootathil from his role as the State President of the Youth Congress.
Addressing the media, George stated, "My fight is for women, not against any individual. Society must acknowledge when women come forward. Despite being insulted initially, others have also shared similar complaints. This is a societal issue, not a personal attack. Political leaders must adhere to moral standards." She expressed hope that truth would prevail and called for sincere investigations into the allegations against significant figures.
On a related note, Kerala's Leader of Opposition, V.D. Satheesan, confirmed Congress's commitment to a complete investigation into similar charges made by writer Honey Bhaskaran against the same legislator. Satheesan assured that the inquiry would be rigorous, and serious allegations would not be met with leniency, reflecting the party's stance on maintaining integrity.
