Dussehra festivities brought warmth and cheer to Rajasthan despite an unexpected downpour affecting effigy-makers in Jaipur. Traditional effigies of the demon king Ravan, his brother Kumbhkaran, and Meghnad were engulfed in flames, lighting up the evening sky across the state.
In Jaipur, crowds thronged public grounds in various localities like Mansarovar and Adarsh Nagar to witness the spectacle, as fireworks burst overhead. Similar joyous scenes were reported in the city's outskirts, where locals celebrated with enthusiasm.
However, the rains proved a challenge for effigy-makers, who reported fewer sales. Security was beefed up, as Additional Director General of Police Vishal Bansal ensured heightened vigilance across Jaipur to maintain a peaceful Dussehra atmosphere.
