Mumbai-based photojournalist Imtiaz Shaikh received the Special Journalism Award from the Maharashtra Urdu Academy during its Golden Jubilee. Celebrated for capturing compelling images during the Mumbai terror attacks, Shaikh's career spans over two decades, involving work with numerous prominent media outlets and earning multiple accolades.

Mumbai's esteemed photojournalist, Imtiaz Shaikh, has been honored with the Special Journalism Award by the Maharashtra Urdu Academy, during its Golden Jubilee celebration.

The award, accompanied by a ₹15,000 cash prize and a trophy, highlights Shaikh's outstanding contributions in visual journalism and his brave coverage of the Mumbai terror attacks.

With over 20 years in the industry, including tenures with major news outlets, Shaikh has been recognized with numerous awards and praised by officials for his dedication to Urdu journalism.
