In a shocking turn of events, a 45-year-old man sustained severe burn injuries after being set ablaze during a brawl at a Kali Puja immersion procession in Bediapara, South Dumdum, according to police reports.

The victim, Ranjit Karmakar, was involved in an altercation with other procession participants when one assailant allegedly used petrol from a scooter to fuel the flames. As Karmakar writhed in agony, he was rushed to a nearby medical facility.
