Professor Vishali Gupta, of the Advanced Eye Centre at PGIMER, has achieved a remarkable milestone by receiving the gold medal from the International Uveitis Study Group. This esteemed accolade is reserved for trailblazers in ocular inflammation research.

The IUSG, comprising around 150 elite global experts, bestows this honor once every four years following a rigorous selection process. Gupta's recognition signifies an unparalleled achievement for India, as she becomes the first India-trained scientist to receive this award since the group's founding.

The formal award ceremony will take place in Tubingen, Germany, in July 2026. Expressing her gratitude, Gupta credited her mentor, Professor Amod Gupta, and the supportive environment at PGIMER for her academic success.
