Nagaland Police have laid out an extensive security and traffic plan for the 26th Hornbill Festival, set to begin on December 1, a senior officer announced on Saturday.

Speaking at the Police headquarters, ADGP (Administration) Renchamo P Kikon assured that stringent three-tier security measures are in place, instilling confidence that the festival will proceed without incident, as it has in years past. Traffic management is highlighted as an ongoing challenge but has seen marked improvements in recent editions.

Additional SP (Traffic) Puzoto Khatso detailed the traffic strategy, including seven vehicle categories with distinct entry points and parking arrangements. VVIP and other specified vehicles were given designated access routes, while heavy vehicles face a ban during peak hours to alleviate congestion. Public compliance with advisories is urged for a secure event.
