In a bid to underscore the strategic importance of North Korea's Air Force, leader Kim Jong Un celebrated the force's 80th anniversary while emphasizing its role in nuclear war deterrence. Kim, along with his daughter, witnessed a display featuring drones and missile launchers, state media reported on Sunday.
Photos published in North Korea's Rodong Sinmun depicted Kim observing both unmanned aircraft and mobile missile systems. North Korea is reportedly amplifying its drone production, with a focus on small, short-range First Person View (FPV) drones, and medium-range battlefield attack drones, according to a Ukrainian intelligence source.
Kim also affirmed that the Air Force should counter espionage and potential military provocations. Stressing the Air Force's deterrent capabilities, Kim promised the introduction of new strategic assets, though specifics were not disclosed.
