Tragic Sacrifice: Boy Drowns Saving Friend During Ganesh Immersion

A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Jhansi city as a 14-year-old boy tragically drowned while trying to rescue his friend during the immersion of a Ganesh idol. The event took place at Laxmi Tal, amidst the festive backdrop of Vivah Panchami celebrations.
According to law enforcement officials, the young boy named Yuvraj showed exceptional courage as he leapt into the water to save his friend Shubh Agrawal, aged 11, who had slipped during the ritual. Despite desperate attempts by a nearby woman who threw a scarf into the water, it was only Shubh who managed to grasp the cloth and be pulled to safety.
Subsequently, Yuvraj was retrieved by locals and rushed to a healthcare facility; however, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Kotwali Station House Officer Vidyasagar Mishra confirmed the incident's handling, mentioning the post-mortem process, while noting no formal complaints from the victim's family have been filed yet.
