In a groundbreaking move, traditional handloom and handicraft products from Arunachal Pradesh have made their debut at the prestigious 'Chiang Mai Design Week' in Thailand, officials announced Sunday.
The event's participation is facilitated by the North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation (NEHHDC), under the Union Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region and North Eastern Council. This Southeast Asian festival is a renowned celebration of craftsmanship, design, and cultural heritage.
Representing Arunachal Pradesh are artisans merging traditional knowledge with modern creativity. National award-winning artisan John Paleng and crochet artist Amma Bagbi feature prominently. Their participation has sparked strong interest internationally, paving the way for cultural exchanges and potential market expansion.
