In a tragic incident in Tripura's Dhalai district, the collapse of a brick kiln chimney claimed the lives of four workers, while four others sustained injuries. The incident occurred on Wednesday in the Kamalpur area.
According to police, three laborers died instantly, and one succumbed to injuries later in a hospital. Officer in-charge of Kamalpur police station, Suman Acharya, confirmed that the injured are receiving medical treatment.
Local authorities, along with teams from the State Disaster Response Force and police, launched immediate rescue operations. An investigation is underway to determine the cause, focusing on safety norm adherence and structural assessments. Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed condolences and committed to supporting the bereaved families and ensuring adequate care for the injured.
